I just realized a handful of people I was following, became unfollowed. I kinda just thought they weren’t posting. Has this happened to anyone else?

I heard that if you don’t reblog a single post from a person in a one month timeframe you will automatically unfollow them. Supposedly, this is to encourage people to stop lurking and contribute to the conversations that they are passively watching.

We hate comments on tumblelogs, but we want people to discuss things. We thought long and hard and decided to implement an automatic unfollow. If you don’t reblog any posts from a person within one month of following them they will be removed from your list of blogs that you follow. We figure if you don’t have anything to say about their tumblelog you shouldn’t be following it in the first place.

I hope they make this optional. I hardly reblog anyone’s posts (this being an exception). But I do like to follow people on my Dashboard. Turn this “feature” off guys!
