The end of The Wire

As usual, Jason Kottke does a great job of corralling everything worth hearing about the end of The Wire.

My wife is watching the first season as I’m watching the last. Seeing these bookends gives you a realy appreciation for the integrity of the story arc(s) that David Simon created. I can’t think of another show in recent memory that gets to begin and end on its own terms. While Lost is great, I can’t imagine what the story will look like after another ~40 episodes.

Also check out the comments in Jason’s post for some other great observations from other fans.
